Here is a nice article about Stacey Solomon who is such a sweetheart! And she has such a beuatiful and soulful voice too (as Sky and LizMarie have also pointed out!)

Yes Jamie and Danyl were both awesome! Stacey was also really good too with her Coldplay song which was really suprising coming from her....And I really thought she did a terrific job with it....Even though (as Simon pointed out) the key was a bit too high for her perhaps and a little out of her comfort zone (she really stretched for a few high notes there), it was still awesome none-the-less. Lucy Jones was good too but I agree with Simon in that she didn't hit the really big notes down the stretch. Joseph McElderry (Spelling?) did a great job too. John and Edward were awful though....They were by far the worst of the group....Except for John and Edward though I thought everyone else did pretty well....And I think they, as a final group of 12, stand up pretty well talentwise against the final 12 of American Idol this past season....Aside from Adam being in his own league that is.

Here is the bad news though...I was very dissapointed in the behavior of some of the judges tonight!!....Aside from Simon who was spot on in his comments, Louis Walsh is a complete idiot IMO!! The two female judges were also pissing me off a lot...And the comment that Danni made to Danyl was so totally uncalled for....She should be thrown off of the show permanently for that comment she made to Danyl IMO....I have lost all respect for her now...And Cheryl wasn't much better really. I love what Simon said about how they both have sang half naked before in thier cheesey pop careers when they dissed on Kandy Rain for looking to prevocative for a first show....I really don't think Danni and Cheryl can sing that well anyway to be perfectly honest....They are both very attractive women though and no one can deny that....but I have no respect at all for Danni anymore...She was way out of line tonight IMO!

Here is an article that has already come out about Danni's comments on tonight's show in fact:

O.k. after going back and listening to each of the top 5 or 6 performances again (and actually watching a few of them several times) I am declaring the winner for the first week to be Stacey Solomon.....And as much as I like Simon as a judge on this show compared to the other 3 judges, I think he was wrong when he said that Jamie Archer was in a completely different league than the other performers that came before him....Jamie was really good...but he was a bit weak in the lower register at first and then after the first chorus he sounded much better....And I loved the song!.....BUT Stacey was the one in her own league to me with that beautiful and artistic version of the Coldplay song IMO....Even though at first I agreed with Simon about the key being a bit too high for her...After listening to it again I am officially recanting that statement! lol! :D ....I think her upper register had a great willowy texture to it that was perfect for that song....Her lower register is also beautiful in a more soulful way perhaps.....but this girl's voice is addictive! Of all the other performances tonight, I find myself wanting to hear her performance over and over the most.....Danyl, Jamie, and Joe were the next best in that order for me (although there isn't much difference between them IMO they were all great!)

Here is Stacey Solomon! We will be hearing more from this one in the future and you can count on that too!

I'm having a rough time getting some of the vids to buffer, so it's been a choppy listening! :pullhair I was determined to hear Stacey's all the way through, and she is remarkable. I missed her chatter though or as my UK friend says her 'babble'! Danyl sang really well, but I don't particularly like the song and that sometimes affects my judgement. Jamie.....loved it, love his voice, love his performing.

Danni needs to be reprimanded for her awful remarks. Does she have any idea the impact? Both Cheryl and Danni were rude in their remarks about the girl's style of dress, which kind of went with the song IMO!

John and Edward shouldn't even be there. They should be the ones going, but you know they won't because Louis wants them there. They aren't cute, they are cocky lil guys. Lucy Jones was really good, but not much different than any other singer out there. Yep, Stacy is the one to watch!!

Apparently the contestant mentor for last night's show (Robbie Williams), has picked Stacey Solomon as the one to beat and it has created a little bit of a stir since the bookies have picked Danyl and Jamie ahead of her.

http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/x-factor/x ... -will-win/

I still am pulling for Jamie but Stacey is growing on me now so much I'm not 100% sure where my allegiance lies now lol! She is also just so darn likeable! I like the new catch phrase "Go The Fro" for Jamie now too!

I agree.............Stacey is very likeable and can SING!!! I'd like Jamie to continue with his singing though and would hope some recording company would sign him if he doesn't win. Love the slogan for Jamie!!

Jamie wears black nail polish!!....Check out this video in the bedroom at the x-factor house where the over 25's sleep ....Jamie and Danyl do a little number by a band called JLS and you can clearly see Jamie's black fingernail polish! One more reason to like Jamie Archer....And Danyl Johnson is a pretty good singer too! Both really nice guys IMO!

They both sound fun..............still lovin Jamie more though, maybe because Danyl seems more into the bluesy/jazzy kind of music, and I'm not. ;) Nice vid!

Jamie was awesome!!! Danyl good, very powerful, he's just not my favorite. Stacey was really good, but I was surprised at the song she sang. Those twins............they have got to go, it was almost painful to listen to the whole performance but I wanted to hear what the judges had to say. I've watched just about all of the performances so far.

I agree....I think Jamie was the best tonight though! Racheal did better this week for the girls too....I liked Stacey's Coldplay song from last week better than her performance this week though....She did finish strong though as Simon pointed out....but it was all about Jamie tonight IMO!

Since many of you all are Moms, your hearts will melt when you see this adorable little girl (if you haven't already?)....She was the runner up on Britian's Got Talent on the same year that Paul Potts won it....And she was only 6 when she was on that show....both of these videos are from songs she sang when she was only 7 ....and her voice is just unfreakinbelievable!!!....She sings and looks like a total Angel! She is 8 or 9 now and she already has 3 albums that have gone platinum. Her name is Connie Talbot

I do remember her but I had not heard anything else from her since the show. She truly is a gifted little girl. She has the voice of an angel. Can you imagine her as she gets older? Awesome.

Jamie was the best this week. Stacey was good but the song was her best performance. She needs to sing more up-to-date songs.

Yes, I agree that when she gets a bit older she is really going to blow us all away.....I'm already blown away by her voice and she is only this wee little thing! lol! I love her personality too....Always smiling and laughing!

And...in calse no one has seen this yet, some how John and Edward found a way to make it out of the bottom two again?? This kind of reminds me of when that red headed kid kept making it through on AI a couple of seasons back (I think his name was John Stevens maybe)....Or the way Sanjaya kept making it through....Only John and Edward are far worse than any AI finalist!!...How are they avoiding the bottom two each week? Ughh!

Anyway I can not believe Racheal was in the bottom two again? Ricki Loney I can understand because he hasn't really done well at all in both of his last two performances IMO....And he really needed to go too....but Racheal sang really well this week IMO....And tonight her version of With or Without You was very good! This girl has real talent but for some reason is having a hard time getting votes? I really feel bad for her being in the bottom two again!

Have you watched Cheryl's performance yet? Damn, she is gorgeous! The songs not bad, good production too! The twins stay in because there has to be teenies voting for them, that could be the only reason.

Yes Cheryl is quite the looker....And her new pop song is o.k. I guess....She is a little to bubble gum pop for me actually....Her and Danni both really....But she did o.k. I must admit and she is very beautiful!.....but not as beautiful or nearly as talented as this little girl IMO.....Sorry to post another one of Connie's vids but this one is just so darn cute I couldn't resist! She just makes my heart explode! :hearts

She is indeed very cute and she can sing! I love watching vids of Connie.

Yes, Cheryl is a bit too pop for me too, but her song was okay. I did enjoy the stage show.

Louis Walsh is a total Jack Arse!...Sorry but how hypocritical can you be complaining that Jamie cheated by not singing an actual big band song and then have John and Edward come up a couple of acts later to sing She Bangs?....Since when did She Bangs become a big band song?.....And everyone (including Simon) gushed over Danyl's performance of Feeling Good....Give me a break....Adam's version on AI was a trillion trillion times better than Danyl's....Danyl is the most over-rated singer I've ever seen on any kind of reality t.v. talent show of any kind period! So what do you guys think? Dies Danyl's perfomance of Feeling Good even come anywhere near that of Adam's? Seriously!!

http://www.youtube.com/user/TheXFactorU ... kcjp634Fq8

And of course here is Adam's version (and from this link you can get all of Adam's performances on youtube just off to the right!!...With pre-performance footage and judges comments included....on youtube!....How cool is that!): I think he sang the rockified part better for Jamie Fox though...I just noticed that after watching it again for the millionth time! lol

I'm going to comment quickly and follow up tomorrow...............

There is NO comparison.............Adam was the winner! Danyl is so overrated.

And those lil twins are pathetic.

Jamie was good, but I don't understand how his song is not big band but 'She Bang' is???

Jamie was good! I love to see him smile, he has so much fun performing. I didn't particularly like the song he sang, but he sang it well! Danyl is really down, and it makes me a bit sad. He's good, when he's good but he has to put all the press and remarks behind him when he's performing. I don't want to see him win this one, but I don't like to see anyone feel so down on oneself. Stacie, what can I say, she's a cutie and she 'walks'! :D Lucie was quite good, but no one can do that song justice except GnR! Those lil shits made it through after that performance????? Holy cripes! :pullhair

I only had time to see Jamie, Danyl and the gruesome twosome.

I still can't get over Simon standing up and applauding for average x factor performances when it took something like Adam's Mad World to get that kind of response out of him on this side of the pond. Danyl was a shock, he was so low and his performance was terrible but Simon still was far kinder to him than he would have been to an Idol contestant who had clearly botched it so badly. Jamie really seemed to have had a good night. The twins...oh lord, I really got that wrong earlier when I said they'd be voted off for being overly confident ( I guess there are alot of tweenies in the UK power voting!!!).

I can't believe that Lucy Jones got voted off last week over John and Edward. Granted she wasn't super great but she was a lot better than both Lloyd and John and Edward. Did you catch the outfit that Stacey Solomon wore last week?!! :hubba Me Likey!!

Jamie was great again but Louis complained that he cheated again lol!....I now can say that I officially can't stand anything about Louis....He is the worst talent scout and judge the human race has ever seen!

Sting says Simon Cowell's only talent is 'self-promotion,' calls 'The X Factor' 'appalling'By Joe Dziemianowicz
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

Thursday, November 12th 2009, 1:10 PM

Rock star Sting has come out slugging against "X Factor," a hit British TV music competition that's often compared to "American Idol."

In an interview with London's Evening Standard, the singer's harsh words made it clear he can't stand any move "X" makes, any breath "X" takes.

In the story, done in support of his new album "If On a Winter's Night," Sting referred to "X Factor" as "televised karaoke," "preposterous" and "appalling."

The former Police frontman's icy comments came shortly after "X Factor" judge Simon Cowell — yes, that Simon Cowell, known in the U.S. as the caustic "American Idol" judge — came under fire for allegedly rigging results so the show would play better.

Thousands of angry fans renamed it the "Fix Factor."

Sting had his own description. "It is a soap opera which has nothing to do with music," he told the Evening Standard. "In fact, it has put music back decades. Television is very cynical."

The rocker expressed sympathy for the contestants. "I am sorry but none of those kids are going to go anywhere, and I say that sadly," he said. "They are humiliated when they get sent off. How appalling for a young person to feel that rejection."

In the same week Forbes proclaimed Cowell the highest paid man in television, Sting didn't hold back on his criticism for the judges, either. "The 'X Factor' is a preposterous show and you have judges who have no recognizable talent apart from self-promotion," the singer said.

to put it simply...Simon is british and he has more admiration for brits then for Americans....that is when the pocket book matters most.
Think of the week coming up when he is promoting Susan Boyle whilst his counterpart Simon Fuller is promoting Adam all because of creation of shows in Uk and US...

I think that Simon gives a standing O because they are from his 'group'. Has he ever given a standing O for one that is NOT in his mentoring group?

Jamie just got sent home! He had the lowest vote total....Of course Louis voted for him to go because he was threatened by Jamie....I think I'm now done with this stupid show that doesn't seem to really have anything to do with finding the real talent....but its just about a bunch of political bs and all about the judges!

I heard about this a bit earlier and just could not believe it. It makes me sick that a great talent is let go while the lil shits and a few others stay. The only other one of interest for me on the show is Stacey, but I was with Jamie all the way. What a major disappointment. I pray that some recording company snatches him up so we get to hear him sing again. It's just wrong..............it is a bunch of BS.

Well, as we know all too well on this side of the pond, the outcome of a reality programme is not always fair/right/justified/believable... :nono

Just found this thread tonight. I had watched the first week of XFactor live shows but not since so I have been catching up. Wow -- I could say a ton about this show. LOL I have to say I almost decided to quit watching when I read here that Jamie was sent home. That's nuts. (How in hell did he go home in "Queen" week? Mind boggling.) He was far better overall than Danyl IMO. Danyl is SO overrated and to compare him to Adam is crazy. I did like "Purple Rain" though. It was nice to hear a song not normally heard on these types of shows and it suited him well. I liked "We Are The Champions" too but only the last half or less; it started off very stilted (and I kept picturing Adam singing it which didn't help Danyl's cause).

That one judge -- Louis? -- is totally inept. He bashes Jamie (out of his depth? average singer?) and then sits there bouncing in his seat crushing on the completely HORRIBLE twins. I think he wants to get into both of their pants at the same time and it has clouded his thinking in addition to his ears. It's like the song I heard from them on Movie week - "Ghostbusters" -- "there's something weird and it don't sound look good". (And I hate to admit it -- but their "Under Pressure" wasn't bad and they did switch it up by using the more modern treatments that have come out using Queen's rhythms/beats.) I can't believe the other judges didn't call him on his "no fair --Jamie didn't do Big Band" comment with the Bobsey Twins singing doing "She Bangs" and Rachel singing "Proud Mary". Then he pulls that crap again on the movie song -- just because he had never seen the movie that "Crying" came from, he accuses Simon of cheating. What a whiney baby. I have always hated the sniping between the Idol judges but these guys are worse by far. The format where they mentor the singers contributes a lot to that because of the loyalty they feel toward their wards. I do think that this dynamic is behind some of the criticism they give-- to get rid of the competition for their guys, and that's a major problem. On the flip side, I get a kick out of watching Simon singing along to some of the songs, clapping, smiling, and standing up for his guys. A very different Simon here.

I skip watching Lucie each week cause she bores me. Don't get the hype on Stacey; her Big Band performance was awful -- one part was really out of tune. Miss Frank = UGH. They were like 3 individuals trying to be a group and they had no chemistry at all. Olly = forgettable. How is he still there? And how is it the judges like him so much? Blows my mind.

I see promise in a couple of them. Bear with me. LOL One is Lloyd. What a cutie pie but he nailed the problem in his Queen performance (Crazy Little Thing Called Love) - "I ain't ready". He needs more time and experience but he has a very interesting voice. As Simon aptly said he is like a puppy in the Grand Nationals. Give him time and he could be a pop star. My other choice is Joe. He has it all - fantastic vocals that are always spot on, cute as can be, and apparently a great guy. Again - he needs more time but vocally he is already there; he just needs nuance. Don't know what kind of music he wants to sing, but I think he could be the British Michael Buble.
