Adam is going to tour, this info just in:
Very Important Info

Q3 - We knew he would tour. And after months of questions and vague answers, hints and rumors, things appear to be in motion for an "Adam Lambert Tour". Reliable sources tell me the tour will start in June and Adam will be the headliner. I could get no information about whether an opening act would be involved but there will be other singers and dancers involved with the show. One source even says, “It will be about like what Adam has been describing he wanted – lots of stuff going on.”

We will use this thread for discussions of the tour as info comes in. I am soooo excited, how about you guys?

:yahoo :rock :rockstar :yahoo :rock :rockstar :yahoo :rock :rockstar YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

I'm so so so glad he's headlining. He's way too talented and popular to be an opening act. I think part of the reason for these random concerts is to see what kind of crowd he draws on his own. Guess they got their answer!

Of course i just told my boss today that I wouldn't be needing time off this summer... Guess I gotta fix that REAL quick when I go back on Thursday.

And I would LOVE to meet some of you girls at the concerts! Can't wait!!!

Jesha, since it didn't work out for us to meet at Rock My Town, I'm sure we will have the opportunity this summer. :)

We have some brand new Adam Lambert news to pass along this afternoon.

We also inquired about the rumor going around that Adam might be touring with Christiana Aguilera this summer.

We can confirm, with certainty, that this is false. Instead, we're told, Adam is gearing up for his own tour.

Stay tuned for updates!

Complete bullshit.

Unless something started brewing last night that I'm not aware of. Would be nice, but something else is in the offing as of right now - stay tuned. <<<<<< we are on the edge of our seats waiting for news of a tour!!

Again, this is from the well-connected Q3 at Planet Fierce today:

"Here is what I know....

1. There is def an Adam tour. There are bookings in venues all over the country. It is national. And I have confirmed this independently of both Monte's tweet and Doug's comments yesterday.

2. There is NO info to support that Adam is opening for Xtina.

3. Doug def referred to when they play arenas last night but was not specific in what he meant.

4. There is news coming -- it is not Xtina -- do not let your imaginations run wild because it will not be as big as we can dream."

I thought this was a very interesting twitlonger sent to Adam - much more detailed than the tweet I sent to Adam last night asking that real fans be enabled to purchase his tickets rather than the reseller scooping them up...

On Tuesday 23rd March 2010, @FoxVegas said:

@adamlambert...please read when you have time:
RE: Concert Ticket Sales Through Adam's Fan Club

I'm so totally delighted to hear that your fan club is finally in the works. I'm also excited to hear from you in your live chat earlier that your mom is possibly involved with the operation of this club! Wow, that's cool! No one better to do this for you than your mom, for sure!

With the discussion on a variety of Adam-fan sites and on Twitter this week regarding the ticket sales for your River Rock Concert in Richmond, BC, I decided to write to you about this.

RE: Richmond, BC River Rock Casino Resort concert -
Tickets were completely sold out in the first 10 minutes of becoming available on Ticketmaster.
So, a huge number of very dedicated fans were unable to buy a ticket. That is fantastic for you and speaks volumes about your popularity with your fans.

However, what I now know is that over 400 of the 950 tickets sold through Ticketmaster are now showing up on E-bay, StubHub and other such sites for clearly astronomical prices as high as $900 per ticket, prices that are light years beyond the affordability of most of your fans.

The scalpers buying the tickets are making a lot of money, but the fans who are buying your album and sending you love and support every day are unable to buy
a ticket and come to your concerts. This is certainly something that your fan club could address and prevent in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, Adam. I know that the fan club that is being set up for your fans will be one that considers the fans first. With the
little bit that I see of you in public, I am confident that you would have no other type of fan club than one that supports your fans. With your huge and caring heart, I have complete faith that this newly-formed and very welcome fan club will be stellar!
Ciao,
Bren

PS...PEARL JAM FAN CLUB:
I've added a description here of a fan club that is beneficial to both the entertainers and their very loyal fans:

"Pearl Jam has a great fan club...it's a seniority based system, the lower or older your number in the fan club, the greater your priority.

All tickets for tours are first offered in a presale to the fan club only, and Pearl Jam has the clout to negotiate the best seats in the house for their fan
club, so the absolute best seats will go to the fans at all times.
No exceptions.

It eliminates the possibilitiy of the venue owners scooping the best seats for their friends and families. It also eliminates the scalpers scooping the best of
the best of the tickets off the top for resale at a huge profit.

Ticket prices are all the same whether the seats are in the 1st row or 2nd balcony. There are no VIP packages, no "M&G super-expensive elitist whoever-can-pay-can-meet-the-band" kind of insanity. Actually, Pearl Jam holds no M&G's that fans have to pay for at all. Their M & G's are free.

It's all about the music, the concert, the high the fans get from seeing the band...and then fans go home and savor the memory as they should. Pearl Jam plays super-long shows and the setlist, in all these years, has never been the same twice. Ever. So people would go to the ends of the Earth to see them as many times as they can because each show is a unique experience.

Any fan club member can buy a ticket in the presale, but seating is determined by seniority and fans will not know their seat till they pick up their ticket at
the will-call on the day of the concert or receive their tickets in the mail or via e-mail.

With seniority, the only thing preventing someone from getting within the first few rows is if fans from out of town with lower seniority fly in for the concert. A fan may go to another town and do the same thing, so it works out.

There is a lottery held to be seated in the front row seating and any fan can win. All VIPs, friends of the band, family and other people who usually get the choice seats at a lot of performers' concerts sit in a less-desirable side balcony or other secondary section, never in the front rows. It's always fans up front. This makes for electric shows and the best possible experience the fans can have.

Anyone at a PJ concert feels like they've won the lottery every time no matter where they sit, and knowing that the system is quite fair and very fan-centric, is really a joy. Fans have never had to go through Ticketmaster to buy a ticket in all these years. They like that and appreciate the band immensely.

The only drawback to this system is the position of the new fans with astronomically high fan club numbers. A lot of the times, people with low fan numbers would offer up their second ticket (fans can only buy 2 for any given concert) specifically to a fan with a high number, only for the purpose of getting them to see the band up close.

It's not quite perfect but it works well and it's a very, very fan-centric system.
Ticket prices? Highest ever paid for a ticket through the fan club is $85+/-. Most fans have never met any of the band and have absolutely nothing signed by them and probably will never have. It doesn't matter to the fans, the band has complete fan loyalty because of how well they are treated by Pearl Jam when it comes to concert attendance.

Memebership was developed on a first-come first-serve basis and the fan club started in the days when you had to mail in for your membership. Today, it is all operated digital. Membership is $20 a year and members get newsletters and a fan club single."

Too right, especially since that damn gall bladder of yours decided to cause trouble for FS! :yahoo

Now, not meaning to over analyze. BUT...when Adam said "a handful of medium sized theatres" does that mean a small number of concerts or a full tour (he did say across the States-whatever number of cities that might be) with mainly smaller venues and some medium sized ones? This could make such a difference to the tickets prices (especially if the resellers bulk purchase) and availability.

Hmm interesting point... I don't know what really counts as medium-sized venues - like the arenas on the AI tour or smaller than that? Either way, I get the impression that it's a full tour, probably like the AI tour, where they go all over the country, not just a few select cities.

But I hope the ticket thing goes better than we hope. Those resellers drive me nuts. :mad :pullhair

Well the funny thing is he said earlier this week when describing coming to Canada for the two concerts, that each venue was a pretty good size for an intimate concert. He said that there was about 3000 seats each. WRONG....so we have to figure out what he thinks is small, midsize and huge.
OF COURSE, we know the difference, now don't we!

ADAM LAMBERT: MY GLAM TOUR

7th April 2010

By Adam Lambert, guest editor

Image

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/vie ... glam-tour/

I’M touring this summer and hopefully will be able to visit Britain as well.

It’s not going to be a fully-fledged arena tour because I don’t have a massive budget, but I’m going to give it as much production value as I can.

Intimate but flash shows are the plan, so it will look sparkly and glam and maybe there’ll be a bit of flesh too.

Justin Hawkins from The Darkness wrote a song on my album, as did Pink, Linda Perry, Sam Sparro, Ryan Tedder and Max Martin, plus I got to write five songs myself.

Now it’s about figuring out the story and how to string it all together.

CHRISTINA Aguilera’s comeback is very exciting for me as I’m a huge fan. You can’t match Christina’s voice – she has got pipes. Last year a lot of pop girls were doing the circus theme on tour and while they all did it very well I couldn’t understand why they did the same thing.

It was interesting as it was kind of a statement of society and calling the whole entertainment game a circus, so maybe it was meant metaphorically.

Some interesting Monte tweets about the tour vs casino shows...(I can just hear L2L :roflmao now after my mournful texts about concert scheduling today!)

anthrogeekPF @Monterrific Aaackk!! Right that casino gigs are part of the tour or right they're all longer than an hour!??

Monterrific @anthrogeekPF casino gigs are one off shows. tour will be different
